The history of our institution begins in pre-independence days Shri. V.R. Dalavi M.A., L.L.B. then Tahasildar of sindgi had a high vision to establish a High School at Taluka head quarter, which was need of the hour. His dream came true with the helping hands rendered by Shri Huchchappa G,bad, Tayi Iravva Nandi, Shri Rudrappa Jogur, Smt Shankremma Pattanashetti, Shri Apparao Kulkarni, Shri Gangappagouda A. Patil, Shri Basalingappa. Kinagi with the material and moral support of all these great personalities, Huchchappa Gangappa.Bad high school was established in the year 1944 to spread the fragrance of education. The institution once with its monolithic wing H.G. High School today it has several Branches to meet the educational aspirations of the society. HISTORY OF THE COLLEGE: It was in the year 1984 C.M. Managuli Arts college then New Arts college came into existence by the great efforts of Shri M.C. Managuli president of the institution and the members of governing body. We admire Dr.M.I. Savadatti former vice-chancellor of Mangalore University & Shri Basavaraj Horatti M.L.C. who have helped a lot for the established of this college. The college started with admission of 60 students and two part-time lecturers. Today the college has the more than 1800 students and 40 staff members, which shows its progress since from date of its inception. Under the stewardship of the following principals the college has won many laurels. 1. Shri T.K. Kalyanappagol 2. Shri K.S. Patil The performance of the college in curricular and extra curricular activities have added may feathers to its cap. After receiving quality education in this college many of our students have completed their post graduation, professional courses and have joined various departments like Education, Judiciary, Police, Defence, Transport etc. Our Institution celebrated its golden jubilee on 13 – 01 – 1997, Shri H.D. Devegouda prime minister of India, Shri J.H. Patel C.M. of Karnataka and Shri Siddaramaiaha Deputy C.M. of Karnataka attended the function. The year 2002 – 2003 is a milestone in the history of college performance. The overall percentage of result is 79% and we are simply proud to say that Department of Karnataka and Hindi have achieved cent percent results. Shri Basavaraj Siddanagouda Biradar of B.A. Part – III of our college has won Dr. S.R. Patil memorial gold medal of Karnataka University Dharawad for the year 2002 – 2003 which adds another feather to our cap. Shri I.B. Biradar past student of our college has won two gold medals in the Department of History Karnataka University, Dharawad. Our performance in Examination outputs is appreciated by commissioner for higher Education Govt. of Karnataka. Our student and staff are blessed and addressed by prominent saints, seers, prominent educationalists, Administrators, noted literary gems journalists etc. His Holiness Poojya Shri Siddeshwar Maha Swamiji of Gadag Poojya Mahanta Swamiji of Ilkal, Father Fhalus, Poojya Sharanabasappa Appa, Poojya Dr. Mahanta Shivacharyaru of Managuli, and Poojya Totendra Shivacharyaru of Nalawar are invited to enlighten of the students. Prominent Educationalists and administrators like Dr. M.I. Savadatti Former V.C. of Mangalore University and member of U.G.C. Shri Shivanand Jamadar I.A.S. commissioner for Re-habitation, Shri M.R. Gajendragad Former V.C. of Kuvempu University, Nadoja Patil Puttappa, Rahamat Tarikere, Ramazan Darga Prof. Doddarangegouda, Dr. V.T. Patil V.C. of Pandichery University are invited to address the students. Noted literary gems like Dr. G.S. Shivarudrappa, Channaveer Kanavi, Late Keerthinath Kurth Koti, Go-ru Channabasappa Dr. Vaman Bendre Smt. Shantadevi. Malwad., Prof. Laxmi Narayan Bhatt, Dr. K.R. Nagaraj, Dr. Sangeeta are invited to guide and address the students.
